SOME GENERAL RULES FOR STATE OF OHIO
REAL ESTATE CONTINUING EDUCATION

New AGENTS AN BROKERS must complete the "10-HOUR POST LICENSE COURSE" within 12 months of licensure.

The first three year C.E. cycle for new licensees begins on their first birthday after the license is issued. New agents may take courses immediately after getting their license and these will count toward the 30 hours of continuing education. You cannot submit your 30 hours of C.E. prior to 60 days of due date(birthday).  You will renew your license at the same time every three years.

Every licensee must complete thirty hours of continuing education every three years (with exception for qualifying seniors) and the due date will correspond with the licensees birthday.  The 30 hours must include at least 3 hours each of Core Law, Core Ethics and Fair Housing (Civil Rights).  You are permitted to take the same courses more than one time during any 3 year cycle.

You may carry up to 10 hours over to a new 3 year cycle from the previous cycle. (If you had 40 hours this time around, you could take up to 10 hours worth of elective course certificates and apply them to the next 3 years).

You may have up to 15 hours of Computer C.E. but you may not have over 6 of those hours as "Basic" computer.

Once you reach the age of 70 you will only be required to submit nine hours of C.E. every three years.  Those nine hours will consist of 3 hours each of Core Law, Core Ethics and Fair Housing (Civil Rights).
